Great Barrier Reef

Strengthening the health and resilience of our marine and coastal habitats through hands-on restoration and community-driven action.

How We Can Help:

The Great Barrier Reef team is focused on strengthening the health and resilience of our iconic marine and coastal ecosystems. We aim to achieve this through research partnerships, hands-on restoration and community-led action.

We deliver targeted projects that respond to key challenges such as habitat loss, ecosystem decline, and climate pressures. Our work spans both on-land and in-water, supporting the recovery of seagrass meadows, coral reefs, and island habitats. This includes collaborative monitoring, marine species recovery, and building opportunities for Traditional Owner leadership and local community involvement in Reef stewardship.

We work closely with researchers, tourism operators, government agencies, and community groups to co-design and implement projects that create lasting, practical outcomes. The team also supports education and engagement activities that connect our local community to the Reef, building long-term commitment to its care.

Our goal is to restore critical habitats, build ecological resilience, and strengthen community connections to the Reef, ensuring it continues to thrive for generations to come.
