Hi, I’m Kellie, a Project Officer with the Reef Catchments Conservation and Communities team. My involvement with Reef Catchments began when I was a student completing my Bachelor of Environmental Practice in 2020. I joined the Waterways team to assist with their water sampling program during the wet season, and having enjoyed my experience so much returned again during my next university break. When it came time to decide where to complete my professional internship as part of my Master’s degree, Reef Catchments was my first choice. I was elated to join the Conservation and Communities team, working to improve the ecological condition of freshwater streams and wetlands.
I am proud of the work we deliver for our region, and the people I am surrounded by make everyday a joy. Reef Catchments is the place for me!
The benefits we enjoy
What can we say? We work in the beautiful Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region. Our projects cover the mountain ranges to the ocean and islands. We work on agricultural land, natural reserves, urban landscapes, the ocean and islands. We engage and connect with local landholders, businesses, communities and traditional owners. We cherish and nourish local biodiversity.
We recognise that life has its rough patches and provide support to our staff through our EAP program and flexible working arrangements.
We love to celebrate your success and growth. As part of our Rewards and Recognition Program, we nominate and acknowledge our people and offer rewards for outstanding contributions to the organisation.
