Help Shape the Future of Natural Resource Management in Our Region
Reef Catchments is developing a new regional Natural Resource Management (NRM) Plan, and we want local knowledge, experience and priorities to help shape it.
Why it matters
The new NRM Plan will set a shared regional vision and guide practical action, investment and collaboration to care for the region’s land, water, biodiversity, coasts, reefs, communities and productive landscapes.
What the plan will do
- Guide regional priorities — shared goals for healthy waterways, biodiversity, sustainable agriculture, climate resilience and community stewardship.
- Bring knowledge together — combining science, regional data, Traditional Owner knowledge, landholder experience and stakeholder input.
- Support investment — a trusted evidence base to guide projects, partnerships and funding decisions.
- Strengthen collaboration — aligning effort across communities, Traditional Owners, industry, government and delivery partners.
- Stay practical and adaptable — responding to changing environmental, social and economic conditions while keeping a long-term focus.
How you can contribute
Your input will help make sure the plan reflects local values, priorities and opportunities. We’ll be seeking feedback through workshops, meetings and public consultation as the draft plan takes shape.
