Title: Proserpine Catchment Sustainability Plan – using a whole-of-system, values-based framework
Duration:
Funding: This project, delivered by Reef Catchments is part of the $5.5 million Reef Place-Based Integrated Projects initiative funded through the Queensland Government’s Queensland Reef Water Quality Program. This project is part of the Proserpine Integrated Project.
Alluvium Consulting is driven by a belief in positive environmental change, helping clients develop impactful strategies, policies, and plans for natural resource and catchment management. They work nationally and internationally, combining scientific rigour with deep local knowledge.
This project delivers a values-based catchment plan for the Proserpine region, providing a strong foundation for current and future projects under the place-based grant. The plan will draw on existing literature, identify knowledge gaps, understand ecological changes, and reconnect socio-economic relationships across the landscape.
By engaging with community through whole-of-system, values-based framework the plan seeks for stakeholders to better understand the local system, and the barriers and limitations to implementing management. Stakeholders will have an improved ability to identify the ecosystem services that are meaningful to them in a local context and identify opportunities for improvement and a pathway to intervention.
