Project Officer - Conservation and Communitites

Rachel Taylor
Rachel completed her Bachelor of Environmental Science (wildlife and conservation biology) from Deakin University in 2017 . The following year she completed her Bachelor of Science (Hons) from the University of Melbourne working on rapid anti-predator training of eastern barred bandicoots against introduced predators, with a resulting scientific publication sniffing out danger. Following her studies, Rachel worked with Melbourne Water for several years, maintaining waterways as an NRM field crew member.

Rachel moved to Mackay from Melbourne, working as a ranger for several months before starting as a Project Officer with Reef Catchments. She hopes to work and engage with community groups, using her passion for conservation and sustainability to assist in protecting local flora and fauna in the MWI region. Rachel feels honoured to be working in Queensland and contributing towards the conservation of our coastal environments, islands and reefs, and the amazing inhabiting wildlife.
