1. How long is the program? The Mackay Whitsunday Water Quality Program is a four-year program which began in January 2020.

2. What is the aim of the program? The aim of the MWWQP is to achieve an enduring reduction in the long-term end-of-catchment pesticide and nutrient loads from the Plane and Pioneer creek catchments.

3. What area does the MWWQP cover? The MWWQP covers the Plane Creek and Pioneer Creek catchment areas in the Mackay and Whitsunday region. For clarification on catchment boundaries please view the map below.

5. What types of activities occur within the program? Activities include nutrient and pesticide management plans, in field assessments, water quality monitoring and equipment assessment and upgrades via small grants.
