Cass graduated from the University of Queensland in 2016 with a Bachelor of Environmental Management (Hons) and a Major in Natural Systems and Wildlife Management and has been working with Reef Catchments ever since.
Cass’s role involves overseeing the Whitsundays Reef Islands Initiative (WRII), which is a Great Barrier Reef Foundation program funded by Lendlease, the Australian Government’s Reef Trust, the Queensland Government and the Fitzgerald Family Foundation. The WRII is focused on making the Whitsundays a recognised, global hub for Reef stewardship and Reef industry sustainability by piloting new approaches to ridge-to-reef restoration and investing in climate-friendly Reef projects, technologies, and tourism activities.
