Pasture management, ground cover and herd nutrition are just some of the topics updated in the 2018 Sustainable Grazing Guide.
New and updated information on tropical coastal grazing information relevant to the Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region is now available on our website and in hard copy from the Reef Catchments office. Readers will find updated ABCD frameworks for practices in grazing as well as new inclusions to reflect emerging issues amongst our region’s graziers.
The Mackay Whitsunday Region Sustainable Grazing Guide provides relevant information and tools to assist graziers to achieve sustainable management of their land, whilst maintaining or enhancing farm efficiency and productivity.
It is designed to be a resource for finding information rather than a comprehensive manual on grazing management. Therefore, each section provides web site links, case studies, and references to published data and identifies interactive tools including applications and software.
We hope you find it useful and we welcome comments. Please contact Michael Boland with feedback.
This update was made possible thanks to funding from the Queensland Government Natural Resource Management Investment Program and information collation by Reef Catchments Grazing Officer, Mandy Jeppesson.
