Don’t miss the opportunity to update your skills and knowledge at the upcoming Stock Take course.

Reef Catchments and the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI) will be holding a one day Stock Take course for graziers in the Mackay Whitsunday and Isaac catchment areas as the first stage of a water quality improvement program.

The Stock Take course will cover topics including the different land types found in the region and how they impact on grazing capacity and pasture species.

Attend the course to learn about monitoring grazing pastures to improve long term paddock productivity and health, managing and interpreting data that is useful for business, and working out foraging budgets to accurately monitor stocking cycles.

The course will be held on Thursday April 12 and on Tuesday April 17 from 8:30am to 4pm in Walkerston at a cost of $330, which includes lunch. Payment can be made on the day or at the Mackay DEEDI office.

The Reef Rescue Grazing Program can cover the cost for eligible graziers to attend the Stock Take course.

To register or inquire about reimbursement for eligible graziers, contact Reef Catchments Grazing Key Contact Officer Scott Underdown at 0437 344 851 or 4945 1017.
