Join Reef Catchments on a bus trip to a local grazing property.

The 2018 Grazing Field Day, on March 21, will be the perfect follow-up to the 2018 Innovative Grazing Forum.

Dr Terry McCosker will be the man to follow during this visit to a local grazing property. Dr McCosker will lead you through a soil health assessment in the field during an education farm tour. Learn how to assess your soil asset, and how to capture water in the soil where you need it.

We have an additional speaker to add to the lineup at the Grazing Field Day. Gwyn Jones will be joining us to discuss weeds as an indicator of soil condition. Gwyn has run his own independent consulting company since 1996 and is working with Stuart Andrews and Duane Norris as part of Tarwyn Park Training. As an agronomist and keynote speaker, he specialises in soil health, balancing soil chemistry, especially trace element interactions, taking a personal interest in water management, plant succession and innovative ways that weeds can be managed. We are looking forward to drawing on his experience in our context.

RSVP  by telephone 07 4968 4200 or by email.

Those attending the Field Day will leave from Reef Catchments, 85 Gordon Street, Mackay, at 8 a.m. for the bus ride to the property. Please wear sun smart clothing and hat, enclosed footwear, and use sunscreen and insect repellent.
