The Mackay Healthy Soils Symposium 2017 focused on the recognition of soil as a living medium.
Reef Catchments Regional Landcare Facilitator, Juliane Kasiske, welcomed nearly 100 participants including cane farmers, horticulturists, graziers, and members from the forestry sector.
Expert presenters spoke on a range of subjects including how to maintain and enhance soil microbial activity for productive yields on a long-term basis.
Attendees delved into the fascinating world of living soil organisms; and local landholders shared their success stories with regards to regenerating soils for sustainable agricultural production.
